Argos 48, Stamps 15: Whose Fault Is It This Week?

We suppose the blame will be layeth on the schedule makers for this Calgary collapse. After all, it was the schedule makers who forced Guy Smiley to throw to the guys in blue. It was probably the league’s fault the Stamps D couldn’t stop perennial all-star backup Michael Bishop. According to Michael Petrie the Stamps lost to the Riders because the team was looking to Toronto – wow what focus.

Calgary was boot-stomped two weeks in a row and there’s no two ways about it. The were down 41-0 and the Argos took their foot off the pedal.  Someone is gonna pay. Tom Higgins, Henry Burris, Jim Barker, Denny Creehan, George Cortez. Not so bold prediction, one Stampeder loses his job before too long.

And George Hopkins should be fined for throwing his water bottle at Michael Bishop. George: You clean uniforms and play Ram Jam, you’re not a player.

BTW, Toronto’s pretty good. Details:

MVP

Orlondo Steinauer – DB (Tor): Three interceptions, that’s a season for most guys. He added three tackles. Bishop gets a mention but the Calgary DB’s are suspect. They’ve given up seven TD receptions in two games.

The Calgary QB’s: Two straight fugly weeks for the Calgary pivots. Burris was 13 of 27 for 164 yards one TD, two picks and a fumble. Most of his yards came late in the game. Akili Smith was 6 of 10 for 68 yards and three interceptions. That’s 90 per cent passing Akili.
