Fan Steals Helmet – Wants Shot At Starting Gig

Pure hilarity out of Hamilton today as the Spec is reporting that a fan was arrested after Saturday’s game for swiping Timmy Chang’s helmet. Chang fever must really be sweeping Steeltown. Now I know fans are right on top of the players at Ivor Wynne but I didn’t realize they had the ability to steal the quarterback’s helmet. The offending fan was reportedly seen leaving the stadium with the helmet when he was arrested by an off duty cop. The fan was charged with theft under $5,000. Maybe it’s just me but if I was stealing a helmet I’d wear it out and pretend like it was mine. The guy was probably hoping the Cats would put him in for a couple snaps – he probably wouldn’t be any worse
