This is a video of Argos cornerback Byron Parker dominating the 2003 NCAA slam dunk contest. Parker played basketball at Tulane for two seasons. The basketball fans out there may recognize the man Parker beat in the final – John “Helicopter” Humphrey. “Helicopter” now plies his trade with the And 1 [...]

Get It On eBay: Your Favourite ex-QB CFL Broadcaster (No, Not McManus)
The Blonde Bomber Matt Dunigan’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers jersey. Wear this with pride while your friends beat you over the head till you’ve been concussed. The only way to look like Matt Dunigan is to get concussions like Matt Dunigan. The TSN blabber analyst played with the Bombers from 1992 until 1994. He famously passed [...]

Riders, 16 Als 7: Yucky
The Saskatchewan Roughriders did something they never do last night they beat Montreal on the road. Perhaps even more astonishing they only needed one TD. AC was as cold as AC and Kerry Joseph was unspectacular but didn’t turn it over. The game was won be the Rider defence. Jamie Boreham conceded three safeties and [...]

Bombers 39, Eskimos 39 2OT: Now Kiss Your Sister
Wow. The B.C. – Toronto game was finger food compared to this main course. A tie game after two overtime mini games. Milt Stegall catches TD 137 to put the game into the extra frame(s). Ricky Ray was unreal, Tyler Ebell (who) and T.J. Acree (who) had monster debuts. And Chaz Roberts was blinking into [...]

Lions 24, Argos 22
Well we didn’t see all three Argo QB’s but we saw two. Damon Allen was unspectacular and Michael Bishop would have been better, if not for Jamel White’s clingy hands. Neither team looked particularly solid. In the end B.C. took care of bidness. The details follow:
The deets.
The stats story.
129 yards!Man the CFL has a damn [...]

Opening Day: B.C. v. Toronto
Lions at Argos 4:30 et on TSN. The pre-game links.
“Rodeo Geroy” is good is case you were wondering.
So that’s what GPS stands for.
Buck Pierce – what a name.
Old Man Allen’s first and perhaps last chance.
Bishop, McMahon and Geico one in the same.
Lions hope to “confuse” the old guy – shouldn’t be too hard.
A Frank Sinatra [...]

Bombers at Eskimos 7:30 et on TSN. Here are the pre-game links:
Ex-Bombers look for revenge versus ’snake’.
Vengeance sounds a lot better than Nanook.
Wait, the Eskimos used to make the schedule?
What do Mickey Mouse, 4:13 Philippians and area code 805 have in common?
The who’s who of new Eskies.
The goods or bads on Glenn.

“Turtle Man” Beats The Hares
This is of course the missed play of the year last season. Tonight the two teams meet again at the site of that fantastic/tragic finish. Watching football all my life – prevent defence usually means prevent us (the defence) from winning. I hope lightning strikes twice and it probably will because the Bombers have lightning [...]

The Art Schlichter Report: Week 1
The Art Schlichter Report is our weekly look at the CFL betting lines and our picks. In the spirit of Mr. Art Schlichter our picks will probably be unreliable. BTW, Schlichter seems to be turning things around. Line in bold favourite in italics.
Thursday
B.C. -4.0 at Toronto
RFTW – B.C. by way more than four
Winnipeg at Edmonton -1.5
RFTW [...]

“You Ain’t Ready For A Rodeo”
It’s times like these when I truly cherish YouTube. My first reaction after viewing this 25 second masterpiece – WOW. CFL MOP Geroy Simon giving his wife “the rodeo” in a clip his kids apparently posted.
My second thought, I think Geroy might need to change his touchdown celebration from “The Superman [...]
